Scheduled Contest: “Find the Fairytale Clues” Birthday Contest — Begins July 1, 2024
Prompt:
Wild Conviction has fairytale elements. In the first chapters — available on the Look Inside the Book feature below — think of the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale Cinderella. If you haven’t read the Grimm Brothers’ version, the Disney animated film — if you have seen that — can be a point of reference for you. (The Grimm version does not have a Fairy Godmother. Instead, it has a tree that grew from the grave of Cinderella’s mother that, via a bird in its branches, grants her wishes.) The first two questions below relate to this information.
The answers to the above questions can be found in the pages included in the “Look Inside the Book” feature. Just click on the book cover below!
Look Inside the Book:
Or, if you have your own copy of Wild Conviction, the clues can be found to page 44 in the print version, or almost the end of Chapter 6 (for both print and ebook versions).
Questions:
Who appears or “comes across” as if he could be like the King’s son/the Prince (called Prince Charming in the movie)?
What two images of the seal of the Sisterhood of Gifts are similar to magical elements of the Grimm story, from the information I gave you about the Grimm story above? (The Disney version shares an animal aspect of that story.)
What nineteenth-century invention makes Twilight think of the fairy tale about Briar Rose, who falls asleep for 100 years after touching the spinning wheel?
