Author of stories and poetry as portals to possibilities.
Did you know that there are many books available for FREE or for a very LOW COST?
I have found many books I want to read that are free or from $0.99 to $2.99. There are books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
Usually, the free or lower price offers are for a limited time per book, but every day, there are new books to explore.
I have found interesting free or low-cost books on BookBub, GoodKindles, BargainBooksy, and FreeBooksy. There are other companies that have such promotions. As I find the ones I plan to use, I let you know about them in my subsequent emailed newsletters and blog posts.
If you sign up for the emails from these book promotion companies, you will get frequent (with some, daily) notifications for free or low-cost books.
These will be e-books. While I prefer to read print books, I have found e-books to be better for my budget and for my plan to be more minimalist. If the e-book is formatted well, as I did with the formatting of my novel Wild Conviction, then it looks very similar to the print version.
If you don’t have an e-reader or don’t want one, it is easy to get the capabilities for e-books on your computer through a free download on Amazon of its Kindle app. (I think that works on cell phones and tablets, too, though I haven’t tried that.)
Possibly, though rarely, with certain promotions, you might be able to get a print book, such as when a reader wins a giveaway contest in which the books offered to the winner are print books. Goodreads has two giveaways: one in which e-books are given away to up to 100 readers and one in which a small number of print books are given away.
Another example of possibly getting a print book is this: my novel currently is being and has been featured in promotions by BookSweeps. An author with the BookSweeps promotion is required to provide a copy of their book to the winners. However, an author is not required to contact the winners to ask if they want an e-book gifted to them or a print book sent to them, but if an author wants to do so, they can. That is what I do. Some readers say they love receiving print books. Some prefer e-books.
Will I be offering Wild Conviction e-book for free or for a lower price than its current low price of $2.99?
I am unsure, but most likely. Possibly at some point and with the right promotion. And for only a limited span of time.
However, the price at which the Wild Conviction e-book is currently set — $2.99 — is considered a low price for an e-book.
Win a free copy of Wild Conviction, along with dozens of other great books—and an e-reader. Here’s how:
Until January 17, 2024, you could win your copy of Wild Conviction along with other great books in two promotions through BookSweeps. Both promotions, originally scheduled to end January 10, are now extended to January 17.
For both contests, I plan to give each winner the choice of a paperback copy or an e-book of my novel. (Sometimes, there are restrictions that might decide the choice, such as Amazon not allowing an e-book to be gifted outside of the US or Canada. Or, high mailing costs.)
However, again, contacting—or not contacting—the winners to ask what they prefer is an author’s choice.
